The centre has set up 47 Powerloom Service Centres (PSCs) in major powerloom clusters across the country for providing technical training and service support to powerloom weavers.
Of these, six PSCs are functioning in Gujarat and three in Madhya Pradesh. The jurisdiction of those PSCs may extend beyond a District, textile minister, Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar said this in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
In the Handloom Sector, in the country there are six Indian Institutes of Handloom Technology (IIHTs) and 27 Weavers Service Centres (WSCs), Mr. Gangwar added.
