Thailand to Host Inaugural ANTEX Asia 2024, Showcasing Leadership in Nonwoven Technologies

With the global nonwoven industry projected to grow over 8.7% annually, Thailand is poised to take the lead, capturing 48% of Southeast Asia’s nonwoven market share. The first Asia Nonwovens Technology Expo (ANTEX Asia 2024) will be held from 13-15 November 2024 at Bangkok’s International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), spotlighting Thailand’s advancements in sustainable nonwoven technologies.

A Thriving Sector: Thailand’s Growing Market Share Valued at US$50.33 billion in 2023, the global nonwoven fabric market is expected to soar to US$148.387 billion by 2036. With an impressive production capacity of 162,000 tonnes per year, Thailand’s nonwoven industry is a regional leader, propelled by a shift toward sustainable, high-value production. Dr. Chanchai Sirikasemlert, Executive Director of the Thailand Textile Institute, highlights this shift: “Thailand’s textile sector is embracing added value through innovation. Nonwoven fabrics, valued for their durability and environmental benefits, reflect our readiness to position Thailand as a hub for nonwoven production and export in Southeast Asia.”

ANTEX Asia 2024: A Hub for Southeast Asia’s Nonwoven Industry Organized by MGT Expo Planning and Management, Baobab Tree Event Management, and Tradelink, and co-hosted by the Thailand Textile Institute, ANTEX Asia 2024 will reinforce Thailand’s standing as a center for nonwoven innovation. Over 100 exhibitors from 10 countries will showcase materials, technologies, and applications across sectors, offering a prime venue for establishing industry connections and driving growth.

Industry Insight and Networking at ANTEX Asia 2024 The concurrent ANTEX Asia Nonwovens Conference 2024 will host experts discussing trends in nonwovens, healthcare, the circular economy, and technological advancements. Additional networking events and business matchmaking sessions will facilitate targeted industry collaborations. Grace Mak, Founder of MGT Expo, shared, “Our goal is to create a top-tier platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore the latest in nonwoven technologies,” while Culsin Li from Baobab Tree Event emphasized the event’s impact on industry progress.

Expanding Market Demand and Opportunities for Collaboration As Thailand’s automotive industry, producing over 1.7 million cars annually, aligns with the nonwoven sector, the demand for these materials continues to grow. Highlighting the significance of this synergy, Niwat Lersnimitthum, Chairman of the Thai Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Trade Association, noted the sector’s importance to medical, hygiene, and automotive industries in the shift towards sustainability. Dr. Duangdet Yuaykwamdee from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau added, “ANTEX Asia 2024 enhances our economy, offering vast opportunities for international collaboration and investment.
