Smriti Irani, Indian textiles minister recently said that the problems faced by the Indian textiles sector over the GST would be discussed at the ongoing 23rd meeting of the GST council in Guwahati.
The textiles sector generates as the most employment in the country after agriculture, the center is fully aware of its importance and interests of small weavers, she added.
Many feedback had been received from textile industry representatives over the irritants and we would definitely discussed over the issue. Though a few recent steps had offered relief to the sector, their problems would be put before the meeting for redress, Irani said.
