TEA Thanks Jayalalithaa For The Memorandum To PM

TEAThe Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA), chairman A. Sakthivel thanked the Tamil Nadu chief minister, J. Jayalalithaa for inclusion of textile related issues particularly for effluent treatment plants in Tirupur in her memorandum submitted to the prime minister, Narendra Modi during his visit to the state on August seven.

In a letter to chief minister, Sakthivel said Jayalalithaa is always keeping Tirupur and welfare of Tirupur industry in forefront and the measures taken by her have helped this hosiery hub to turn back and the export reached Rs 20,73 Crore in 2014-15. “We are optimistic that with your guidance and support, Tamil Nadu will occupy a number one position in industry status and simultaneously, the exports will also grow significantly,” he said.

“Madam, you have once again proved your keenness in the development of Tirupur industry and in the memorandum presented to the prime minister you have sought his personal intervention to arrange for release of 13th Finance Commission grant an amount of Rs 200 crore for completion of 18 common effluent treatments plants in Tirupur to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge and make them fully functional.

Sakthivel also appreciated the chief minister for requisition made to expedite the release of the pending subsidy under the TUF scheme which would be helpful for the units to meet their financial commitments and also have better production planning and control.
