The park is likely to be ready by March 2016.

KPR Mill is in the process of establishing a new garment manufacturing unit at Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. The company plans to invest Rs 55 crore on installing an annual capacity to produce 1.2 crore pieces of garments at this unit. The project is likely to be completed in April 2015 and is expected to create a direct employment for 1,200 people.

At same time, Dollar Industries is expected to invest Rs 30 crore to set up a new, fully-integrated, garment manufacturing facility over an area of one acre at Ludhiana and will cater to thermal and outer-wear. This is to be completed by March 2016.

A Rs 27cr-lounge-wear manufacturing unit will be set up by Ashapura Intimates Fashion at Vapi in Gujarat. This unit will have a capacity to produce 70 lakh pieces of garments per year. It will create an employment opportunity for 2,000 people.

Meanwhile, the textiles ministry is investing Rs 18 crore in an apparel and garment centre in Gangtok, Sikkim. Spread over 1.5 acres of land, the centre is likely to be completed by June next.
