summer ethnic wearThe Indianwear designer Anuradha Ramam has recently launched her Spring/Summer 2014 ethnic wear collection made using traditional fabrics collected from across India.

Fit to be worn to weddings and parties, the range, which consists of Anarkali suits and palazzos, is crafted mainly from Ikkat and tussar materials adorned with mangalkari hand block print and kutch and kantha embroideries.

The line’s standouts include a tussar hand block print kurta with an embellished neckline, a pair of silk straight pants, a kantha embroidered duppatta, an ikkat cotton kurta with Kutch stitch yoke and a pink mangalkari kurta with printed sleeves and taar zardozi work.

About the collection, the designer reveals, “I have designed the ensemble by keeping in mind the upcoming marriage season. These new outfits are perfect match for marriages, evening parties and other occasions, but this is not the only thing, she does have casual and office wear designs in her new collection, which always looks different and classy.”

Born in Madhya Pradesh, and educated in West Bengal, the Delhi-based fashion talent is known for her efforts in supporting various forgotten crafts and weavers and artisans in the country. She currently supports over 350 weavers and artisans in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
