GrasimGrasim Industries, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has bagged the ‘Make in India Award for Excellence’ in the textiles category.

Grasim was selected for the prestigious award by Krazy Mantra after a rigorous nomination and evaluation process.

On behalf of Grasim, HK Agarwal, COO & business head, and Ajay Sardana, vice president – Customers & Market Intelligence, received the award at a function in Gandhinagar this week.

Union MSME minister, Kalraj Mishra and minister of state for science and technology Govindbhai Patel presented the awards to winners in various categories.

Around 40 of the 400 nominated companies were declared winners in their respective categories. The winning companies include some well-known ones like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Haier, Suzlon, Ernst & Young, Yamaha, Liberty Shoes, Jindal, and JK Lakshmi Cement.

Grasim, which started as a textile manufacturer in 1948, today ranks amongst India’s largest private sector companies, with consolidated net revenue of Rs 293 billion and net profit of Rs 21 billion in financial year 2014.
