In the first five months of fiscal ending November 30, exports of Bangladeshi home textiles plummeted 42.27 percent from a year ago period to $299.4 million. The fall in clothing exports in November were primarily attributable to protests by garment workers who wanted higher minimum wages. According to experts, these protests came at a time, when garment exporters are busy with fulfilling orders for the festival season in western markets.
