Edappadi has announced an International Textile Fair to be Organised

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced to organise an International Textile fair in Coimbatore to boost the State Textile Industry by investing Rs. 2 Crore for the event. This announcement was done in The State Legislative Assembly to encourage and developed the Textile Industry of the State. The event shall take place at Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore by this year.

Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) president Raja M Shanmugham appreciated the effort and said that Tamil Nadu is a major player in the country’s textile value chain, so organizing this fair would largely help in promotion of the industry, including exports.

The Tamil Nadu textile industry is exporting about Rs. 45,000 crore worth of goods annually, and organising international Textile fair will help in increasing exports, Shanmugham said in a press release. “The textile industry will get an opportunity to showcase quality products and penetrate new markets and also get new buyers,” he added.

TEA president also thanked Phanindra Reddy, secretary, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles & Khadi Department, for his generous support and efforts for the announcement of international textile fair in Coimbatore.
