Investment of Rs.300 crore by Arvind to set up an Apparel Park

Arvind Limited with an investment of Rs 300-crore in Dahegam has signed a MoU with the government of Gujarat to set up a mega apparel park in district of Ahmedabad.

Recently the Gujarat government has announced its newly garments and apparel policy which aims to create one lakh job opportunities in the state. To support the policy Arvind Limited’s Executive Directors–Kulin Lalbhai and Punit Lalbhai has signed a MoU with the government in presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

The MoU was signed after the announcement of the policy which envisages achieving textile-to-garment value of 5 FS – farm, fabric, fibre, fashion and foreign markets.

The mega apparel facility will employ more than 10,000 people, a majority of which will be women. The commercial production of the park is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2018 and will produce over 24 million garments once it is fully operational.
