For most of the Indian exporters of apparel and home furnishing products, the market has been really tough from the last few months, but as usual there are few companies that are not only expanding during this hard phase, but even expecting 100 per cent growth.

Karur-based Karur Export Company, exporting wide range of home furnishing items, has recently invested Rs.2.5 crore in its new unit. With the expansion, the company has doubled its capacity and is now starting bedding division which was earlier missing in its product basket.

“We have started a new unit in 50,000 sq. metres with all the facilities where few audits have already been completed. Apart from our existing products, the new unit will also produce bedding line which includes bed sheets and quilts mainly. We will increase our team also, including designers and other middle-level management positions. With all these initiatives we should have at least 100 per cent growth in current fiscal,” Shibu Mathew and V. Vijayaraju, partners of the company said.
