Happening Haryana To Attract Investors On Textile

The forthcoming Happening Haryana to held in Gurgaon from March seven is an initiative of the Haryana government to de-stress the industrialists of the textile and apparel sector which were thoughtful of lack of investment and skilled manpower in the sector.

The investor summit focuses on textile, apparel and handloom industries along with other sectors. The state government is looking forward to luring investors for those sectors at the event.

Speaking about the event, state’s additional chief secretary, P. K. Das said that they have made a mark in the apparel sector in the global market. Gurgaon is the seventh largest apparel exporter in the world with a growth rate of 3.5 per cent. “Haryana is the upcoming destination for investment in apparel industry and turning into an apparel hub. We will gear up and address the critical issues of the industry to motivate entrepreneurs and provide investment in apparel industry.

Das was speaking during a discussion on the scope of investment in the apparel industry. T L Satyaprakash, deputy commissioner, Sanjeev Raheja from CII, Chandigarh; Ashwani Gupta, additional director (Tech); etc. were, among others, present in discussion.

Ashok G Rajani, chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council said that they were happy that ‘Happening Haryana’ would see the apparel sector as an area of investment. He appreciates the initiative taken by the state in taking up the industry issues. The apparel sector has its share of problems. Investment world increase by leaps and bounds once the government takes steps towards eradication of these problems, he said.
