BJP Leader Visits Apparel Lifestyle Stall

BJP Leader Visits Apparel Lifestyle Stall

Amidst an utter confusion over the incoming GST regime, ‘Garment show of India’ began at Pragati Maiden, in New Delhi yesterday where around 60 stalls of different garment brands displayed their products to woo buyers.

Number of participants in the three–day fair this time was less compared to the last year’s figures. Turnout of the visitors was also significantly low mostly because of, as the organizers feel, the current confusion over the one nation one tax concept, although the GST council on Saturday cleared the picture fixing a 5 per cent rate on cotton fibre, yarn and fabrics. The apparel industry is looking forward to a simplified tax regime under GST with a single rate for entire value chain. The multiplicity of rates announced will lead to interpretational issues it feared.

However, everything is now clear and the fair was inaugurated by Actor turned politician, BJP Delhi president, Manoj Tiwari in the presence a galaxy of garment leaders.

Tiwari later went round different stalls at the venue. He also visited Freeman`s Stall where he was presented with a copy of Freeman`s Apparel manufactures directory by company`s MD Pradip Kochar. Tiwari had gone through the copy of the directory and appreciated the efforts made by the publisher.
