Phase 3 of YKK Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s Nhon Trach Factory expansion officially began with a groundbreaking ceremony held on January 29, marking the next stage of Tokyo-headquartered YKK Corporation’s manufacturing growth in Vietnam. Around 40 guests attended the event, including Yoshimine Kobayashi, Executive Vice President and Head of the Manufacturing & Engineering Division of YKK Corporation, and Yuji Furukawa, President of YKK Vietnam, along with other key stakeholders.
The Phase 3 facility will be constructed on land adjacent to the existing Phase 1 and Phase 2 factories at Nhon Trach, Dong Nai Province. Once completed, the new factory is expected to significantly enhance YKK Vietnam’s production capacity and strengthen its product development capabilities, reinforcing the company’s role as a key technology and manufacturing hub within the ASEAN region.
Designed as a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the Phase 3 expansion will incorporate advanced automation technologies to create a highly efficient production system. The new setup will enable YKK Vietnam to respond more flexibly to evolving customer requirements and deliver high-quality fastening solutions to a wide range of customers, including leading global brands.
The total investment for the expansion amounts to USD 83.6 million, covering construction, machinery, and equipment. The project will be developed on a land area of 176,701 square metres, with a total building area of 110,460 square metres. Construction is scheduled for completion in May 2027.
