Peddur Apparel Park opens in Sircilla, targeting export to international brands

A new garment manufacturing facility, developed with a total investment of Rs.102 crore, has been recently launched at Peddur Apparel Park in Sircilla, Telangana. Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and D. Sridhar Babu presided over the event.

The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) played a key role in the development by constructing a built-to-suit production facility measuring 1.73 lakh square feet at a cost of Rs.62 crore. Complementing this, Bengaluru-based Texport Industries has invested Rs. 40 crore in setting up advanced machinery and initiating operations at the unit. The government has also extended comprehensive infrastructure support, including industrial sheds and continuous power supply, to ensure seamless operation of the unit.

This facility marks a significant advancement for Telangana’s textile industry and is expected to enhance rural employment, particularly for women from underprivileged backgrounds. The government-backed initiative seeks to uplift economically weaker sections by offering training in garment stitching and providing them with stable employment.

Designed exclusively for export, the manufacturing unit will produce 70 lakh garments annually, with 100% of its output destined for global markets. It is expected to generate export revenues of Rs.300 crore per year, supplying high-end fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Robert Graham, and Vans.

The facility currently houses 1,000 sewing machines and will operate in two shifts, offering direct employment to 1,600 women from the local region. Over the next three years, an additional 2,000 jobs are projected to be created as the unit scales up its operations.

Overall, this initiative is not only expected to boost textile exports from Telangana but also significantly improve socio-economic conditions in the region through skill development and livelihood generation.
