Pearl Academy Launches Courses At AIFWPearl Academy, a private institution in design, fashion and creative businesses, launched new age courses in e-commerce and Indian couture at the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015.

The specialised undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Fashion & Lifestyle Ecommerce (FLE) and Indian Couture (IC) were launched by Pearl Academy to fill the demand-supply gap of trained professionals solidifying the robust growth of the related industries.

Introducing the Indian Couture course, fashion designer and couturier JJ Vallaya said, “India is the biggest market for Indian couture and a dedicated course on this was much required. Pearl Academy has always been known for offering unique courses defining the future of fashion”.

Launching the Fashion & Lifestyle E-Commerce courses, president of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) Sunil Sethi said, “The business of fashion has evolved immensely in the last decade, especially the shift from four walls of stores to the ever expanding online medium. We are glad that Pearl Academy has pioneered new age courses in this domain to boost e-tailing’s growth”.

“We are extremely excited to introduce specialised courses in fashion & lifestyle e-commerce and Indian couture along with the industry. We are looking forward to train fresh talent which will further strengthen growth of these industries”, Sharad Mehra, CEO of Pearl Academy said.

In India, e-tailing is expected to grow to 32 billion US Dollar by 2020 and ethnic wear industry is set to grow by 8.4 per cent i.e. 11.63 billion US Dollar over the next decade.
