Online wholesaler Wydr has been retained by the National Handloom Development Corporation ( NHDC ) to assist in online B2B sales for products certified under the ‘India Handloom Brand’ by NHDC.
This partnership intends to educate, train and enable cooperatives and weavers to directly sell their products on the B2B ecommerce website.
The union ministry of textiles also intends to help weavers sell directly to retailers in bulk and also help them receive higher realisations for their products through this initiative.
The online wholesaler will also enable weavers to leverage technology to also reach out to new bulk buyers across India.
Rishab Dhyani at Wydr said, “We have already begun reaching out to weavers and cooperatives in states like Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh with Jaipur, Jodhpur, Varanasi and Panipat being the major hubs.”
