Dr. Arindam Basu, Director General on behalf of Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) and Smt. Surina Ranjan, IAS, Director General on behalf of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) signed MoU for collaboration in the areas of Standardization and Conformity Assessment on 23 rd July, 2019 at BIS, New Delhi.
Prime aim is to establish cooperation in the areas of standardization & Conformity Assessment in the fields of textiles including technical textiles. Both, NITRA & BIS, will work collaboratively in the areas of Standardization Activity in the agreed fields through Technical Committees of BIS, undertaking R&D projects of relevance to
Standardization, organizing joint seminars, conferences, workshops, symposium or lectures on topics of Standardization and Conformity Assessment in the agreed field of academic curriculum. Also NITRA will provide expert man-power on subject domain for the work of standardization & related activities. BIS will explore the possibility of using laboratory facilities available at NITRA for catering to the needs of various Conformity Assessment Schemes of the BIS in the agreed fields.
