NHDC Unveils ERP System

The National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC) has installed an ERP software to ensure hassle-free supply of yarn to handloom societies in Chennimalai cluster.

The ERP system offers significant benefit to weavers, reflecting in quick delivery of yarn with higher transparency and accountability, according to a report.

Various processes which include indenting, purchase order generation and invoice generation and those can be done in minutes, was demonstrated to representatives of handloom societies in the Chennimalai cluster.

Official sources said while, enhancing the efficiency and response of the supply chain, inventory management, forecast of procurement and demand would result in high quality customer service.

The ERP system covers availability of yarn at the best prices, access to information through mobile application and determination of stock of material in yarn depots.

The software also provides ease in placing and checking the status of indents and receipt of details of dispatched material through SMS.

While saving time, weavers would also be able to view information about their unused quota under the 10 per cent yarn subsidy scheme.

An ecommerce platform was also unveiled which is expected to deliver attractive returns to handloom cooperative societies and in turn enhance wages of stakeholders.
