Kunal Anil Tanna, a menswear designer, will launch its first flagship store in Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda area on August 22.
The exclusive brand outlet, located opposite Lion’s Gate, will offer the label’s casual and event wear collection to the city.
“The 1,100-square-foot store is intended to redefine the luxury fashion experience,” the brand’s press release announced.
The concept of Zen influences the store’s interior design, with a natural wood floor and cloth drapes throughout.
“This project has been extremely close to my heart, and I was very particular about the look and feel of the store’s interiors,” designer Kunal Anil Tanna said.
“I partnered with a close friend to design the entire experience directly. Each feature has a distinct character, from the muslin curtains to the moderate color palette to the mirrored walls,” he added.
Kala Ghoda is renowned for its blend of history and culture. The designer with a brand of an eponymous name chose the location for his first Mumbai store to create a minimalist refuge.
Following the store’s launch on Thursday, customers will be able to peruse the range of men’s tailored suits, fusion-style clothes, and relaxed casual wear.
Immediately after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Management, he pursued Fashion Design with India’s most reputed institute for Fashion NIFT, in Mumbai.
He went on to win ‘The Best Designer’ Award on the national level for his graduating collection in 2005.
Being young, enthusiastic yet naïve about the industry Kunal Tanna decided to work under India’s leading designer Manish Malhotra.
After gaining four years of work experience, he moved on to start his own label Kunal Anil Tanna. The label maintains a design philosophy of being classic, minimalistic yet very chic and sharp.
His collections comprise of stylishly constructed silhouettes with meticulous texturing and detail colour mixing is one of the label’s fortes.
Kunal Tanna has his design studio in Mumbai, and retails from stores in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dubai, etc.
