Madhya Pradesh has received approval to develop India’s first PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park, a Rs. 2,100 crore project that is expected to significantly boost the state’s industrial ecosystem and position it as a major textile hub. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the park, sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Textiles under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be developed in Bhainsola village, Dhar district.

Spread over 2,100 acres, the park will feature advanced infrastructure designed to support the entire textile value chain in one location. Facilities will include a 20 million litres per day (MLD) Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) water treatment plant, solar energy-based power systems, plug-and-play manufacturing units, and residential complexes for workers. The park will integrate all textile-related activities—spinning, weaving, dyeing, processing, and garment manufacturing—within a single, modern industrial campus.

Construction is set to be completed within 14 months, making it the fastest-developing textile park in India. Strategically located just 110 km from Indore and 50 km from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the park will also benefit from proximity to Hazira port, located 452 km away, enabling efficient domestic and international logistics.

Chief Minister Yadav revealed that the project has already received investment proposals worth Rs. 10,000 crore, with land allotment applications opening soon. The park is expected to create employment opportunities for lakhs of youth, contributing significantly to the economic development of Madhya Pradesh. Yadav also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for supporting the project, noting its alignment with national campaigns such as “Make in India,” “Vocal for Local,” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

About PM MITRA Yojana

The PM MITRA scheme was launched by the Ministry of Textiles in 2021 to promote sustainable growth and global competitiveness in India’s textile sector. The scheme envisions the development of world-class industrial parks through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, supported by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) jointly owned by the Central and respective State Governments.

Each PM MITRA Park will house core infrastructure including an incubation centre to nurture startups and early-stage enterprises, a common processing facility, a centralized effluent treatment plant, and additional support amenities such as design studios and testing labs. These parks are designed to offer end-to-end textile manufacturing capabilities in one integrated setting.

Under the scheme, the Central Government will provide financial support of Rs. 500 crore for each Greenfield park and Rs. 200 crore for each Brownfield park to help develop shared infrastructure. Greenfield projects refer to developments on entirely new land, while Brownfield projects involve upgrades to existing sites.

The PM MITRA Park in Madhya Pradesh marks a landmark moment for the Indian textile industry, promising to catalyze investment, foster innovation, and generate sustainable employment in the years to come.
