Coir Board chairman, C P Radhakrishnan said coir pith, coir geotextiles and coir mat will be the products the sector will be focusing on to boost the export and domestic sales.

“After recording an export of 408,897 tonnes, coir pith has notched up the top position in terms of quality with a share of 54 per cent. Other products like tufted mat, coir geotextiles, handloom mattings, powerloom mat and coir rugs and carpets showed rising trend in export”, Radhakrishnan said.
