Indian Apparel SME sector to get Tukatech's help

Fashion technology solutions provider, Tukatech is mulling over expanding its market share in India’s apparel industry. “Having served to almost all hi-end international and national brands, our focus is now to bring the technology to the small and medium apparel industry,” founder and CEO, Ram Sareen said.

The company wants to empower the SME sector in apparel industry with its latest innovation — TUKA3D Enterprise Edition. It helps in increasing the efficiency in product development, thereby reducing the time and cost in developing new samples and enabling effective global communications and faster sample approvals through TUKAcloud.

TUKAcloud is a web-based sample room for digital collaboration and also a communications platform that enables product development to take place in a digital environment, reminiscent of the traditional design process.

“We know there are companies who want to adopt 3D technologies that just don’t have the capital. I’ve always believed that companies of all sizes should have the same access to advanced technology. We’ve seen the industry in California transformed by the affordability and availability of TUKAcad (for digital pattern-making, grading, and marker-making), 82 per cent of the California apparel industry uses TUKA systems. We hope to see a similar phenomenon in India with the onset of a more economical edition of TUKA3D,” Sareen added.

The company at present occupies 85 per cent market of educational institutions and over 60 per cent of the apparel industry in India. Some of its clients are Guess, Jockey, Speedo, Calvin Klein, Forever New, Jones New York Lingerie, MIT, BIBA, W, Westside, Pantaloons, Reliance, Orient Craft, Arvind, Gokul Das, Raymond and Color Plus.
