CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026 and CITI Birla Economic & Textile Research Foundation Awards 2026 are now open for applications, with the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) inviting participation from organizations across India’s textile and apparel value chain to showcase excellence in sustainability, innovation, and industry best practices.
Following the encouraging response received in previous editions, the awards aim to recognize excellence in sustainability, innovation, ESG compliance, resource efficiency, and inclusive growth within the textile sector. Applications are open until June 12, 2026.
A distinguished jury comprising industry experts from across the textile and apparel ecosystem will evaluate the entries and select winners across multiple categories.
CITI Birla Economic & Textile Research Foundation Awards Categories
The awards will recognize outstanding initiatives in:
- Effective chemical management and compliance in textile wet processing
- Low-carbon footprint initiatives in textile manufacturing
- Data-driven sustainability excellence in textile manufacturing
- Achieving ESG compliance through innovation
CITI Textile Sustainability Awards Categories
The sustainability awards cover a wide range of industry segments, including:
- Textile waste management
- Climate-resilient and inclusive cotton production
- Textile heritage revival
- Human resource best practices in MSMEs
- Sustainable cluster development
- Energy efficiency in textile manufacturing
- Kasturi cotton promotion and ginning excellence
- Academic contributions to textile and clothing sustainability
The awards include recognitions in collaboration with leading organizations such as Reverse Resources, IDH, UNIDO, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, and TEXPROCIL.
The winners will be honoured during the award ceremony scheduled from July 14–17, 2026, alongside BharatTex 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
CITI has encouraged textile manufacturers, exporters, cotton value-chain stakeholders, educational institutions, and sustainability leaders to submit applications across relevant categories and share the opportunity within the industry to ensure wider participation.
