Apparel Meet organised to strengthen Textile Industry

Bihar State Government in association with Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has recently organised an apparel meet in Ludhiana to draw investors and to strengthen its textile industry.

The policies and schemes were launched at the event by the government to make industrialists aware of such initiatives and their benefits.

At the event, a detailed presentation by Bihar Principal Secretary (Industries) S Siddharth, on infrastructure, ease of doing business and availability of land and skilled workers in Bihar was given.

Bihar Government has about 2,000 acres of land which can be allotted to investors. To submit their business proposals, an online single window clearance system has been initiated for the investors. The participants were also acquainted with the availability of electricity and also, the Bhagalpur region is famous globally for its distinctive type of tasar silk and coarse varieties of silk fabrics.

The initiative is expected to bring an easy way for the investors to get land approval online on the proposal of their investment, Siddharth said.

Leading exporter and AEPC’s Harish Dua assured that a delegation of city industrialists would visit Bihar soon after which they would decide on investments in the state.
