Anamika Khanna Caps Off 'LFW'15Fashion designer Anamika Khanna capped off the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015 (LFW SR 2015) with her exquisite collection inspired by the title sponsor’s latest range of beauty products named Sculpt.

Replete with structured drapes and based on tones of silver, gold, ivory, gunmetal, black, soft pink, nude and strong blue, the rules-defying fearless line was a balanced and innovative mixture of ‘sculpting’ and ‘de-sculpting’.

Created in experimental silhouettes and structural drapes and forms, the pieces were decorated with zardosi, thread and metallic work embroideries. Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor played as muse to both Anamika and Lakmé makeup expert Natasha Nischol.

Speaking on her finale collection, Anamika said, “It has been an absolute honour to be a part of this grand 15 year celebration. Lakmé’s Sculpt statement was a very inspiring theme to work with for my grand finale collection. It is an eclectic mix of construction and deconstruction and I have played with a lot with drapes, Indian dhotis and long flowy jackets – all silhouettes that truly captures my vision of Sculpt.”

Purnima Lamba, Lakme’s head of innovation said, “Sculpt is all about a modern and structured look, with a focus on matte lips, which we see as the big trend this season. Anamika’s creations and Natasha’s make up have magnificently brought alive our vision of Sculpt.”

In addition to Anamika Khanna’s spectacular fashion show, the final day of LFW SR 2015 also saw a swim and cruise wear line from designer duo Shivan and Narresh. Inspired by the work of French artist, Henri Rousseau and his visuals of visits to botanical gardens on canvas, the Henri’s Garden collection was a mix of resort and jewelled swimwear enhanced with foliage patterns and strategically placed cutouts.
