E-commerce major Amazon India unveiled a new urban fulfilment centre in Jaipur which is spread over 40,000 sq. feet with close to 130,000 cubic feet of storage space. With the opening of this new urban fulfilment centre, Amazon India has 24 operational centres in 10 states across the country with a combined storage space of over 6 million cubic feet.
The urban fulfilment centre will further enable Amazon India to support deliveries under its recently launched Prime program and offer faster delivery during the upcoming festive season, according to the online retailer.
“Additionally, the new centre will empower thousands of small and medium businesses to leverage the growth of digital economy and reach a wide customer base,” it said.
The centre will provide local sellers, weavers, artisans, and craftsmen with a platform to sell their products such as handicrafts, apparel, home décor, jewellery etc. to millions of customers across India.
