3D Systems Launches Fabricate

3D Systems has launched Fabricate, a new fashion application that it said, reinvents textile design and pattern-making with 3D printing using the company’s flagship Cube desktop 3D printer.

“Fabricate is the first application of its kind for the fashion industry bringing customisation through matching and mixing colorful filaments with fabrics for both the professional and home users,” it said in a release.

“Textile files in different patterns and shapes are printed on special fabric which can be sewn onto clothing and accessories for a customised, modernist look revealing new layers of expression,” the company said.

“Fabricate is a celebration of 3D technology and fashion fusion, a completely new way of accessorising that is accessible to everyone,” Annie Shaw, creative director at 3D Systems said. “3D Tech-Style printing lets fashion happen easily, enabling the creation of truly stunning attire,” Shaw added.

Fabricate comes in three different printed textile designs representing three unique sewing projects and each month 3D Systems plans to release a new set of textile designs and projects.

The company will as well unveil exciting collaborations with fashion designers that are mixing 3D technology with tradition.
