Cath Kidston To Open Stores In India

British fashion and lifestyle brand and retailer Cath Kidston will open its first three stores in India as early as this autumn.

To begin with, it will open two stores in Delhi/NCR region at Ambience Mall Gurgaon and Select City Walk Saket before moving on to Grand Galleria, High Street Phoenix, media reports from London said.

The stores will be franchises and the brand has entered into an agreement with Planet Retail Holdings Private Limited as its franchise partner.

Describing India as one of the fastest growing markets in the world, Cath Kidston chief executive Kenny Wilson claimed the brand was very excited about doing business in India, which had the potential of turning out to be an important and successful venture for the company.

“We do a lot of homework before we enter a new market and we already know from the growing online sales that people in India like our products,” Wilson said adding that the British brand has enjoyed a six-month run of positive like-for-likes sale in the UK.

There are also plans to increase the number of stores in India and beyond over the next few years.
