Large format retail chain Shoppers Stop has entered into partnership with wallet services provider FreeCharge, which is part of e-commerce major Snapdeal. As part of the partnership, Shoppers Stop’s customers will have the option to use their FreeCharge wallet to make payments across all Shoppers Stop stores in the country as well as on the webstore www.shoppersstop.com.

The partnership will also extend to the Shoppers Stop group companies including 17 outlets of HyperCity, 95 stores of Crossword and 19 stores of HomeStop across India.

Govind Rajan, COO, FreeCharge and chief strategy officer, Snapdeal said, “FreeCharge wallet is a step jump in the payment experience. We envision the future of payments to be digital and it is going to be all pervasive”

“We have partnered with FreeCharge to offer our customers the option to use a mobile wallet to complete their shopping journey. With the addition of the FreeCharge wallet, our customers will now have multiple payment options. We believe this alliance with FreeCharge will give a fillip to the growth of our omni-channel business,” a Shoppers Stop spokesman said.
