Actor-producer Anushka Sharma has acquired a minority stake in sportswear and footwear company Agilitas Sports, further strengthening the brand’s growing association with celebrity-led sports and lifestyle ventures.
Agilitas Sports, founded by former Puma India executives and led by cofounder and CEO Abhishek Ganguly, confirmed that Sharma will also play a strategic role in building the company’s yoga and activewear segment under the One8 sportswear franchise.
“Anushka is partnering with Agilitas by investing capital in the company and building yoga-wear,” said Abhishek Ganguly. However, financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The development comes after Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, Sharma’s husband, became a co-investor and business partner in Agilitas Sports last year. Kohli had reportedly acquired a minority stake in the company for around ₹40 crore following the end of his eight-year association with German sportswear giant Puma.
As part of that deal, Agilitas also acquired One8, Kohli’s popular sportswear and lifestyle brand, positioning the company strongly in India’s fast-growing athleisure and performance wear market.
With Anushka Sharma now joining the venture, Agilitas aims to expand its footprint in the women’s activewear and yoga apparel category, tapping into the rising demand for fitness-focused lifestyle fashion in India.
Industry experts believe the partnership could further elevate One8’s presence in the premium sportswear segment, combining celebrity influence with Agilitas’ retail and product expertise.
The Indian sportswear and athleisure market continues to witness rapid growth, driven by increasing health awareness, fitness adoption, and consumer demand for stylish yet functional apparel.
