DLF Emporio Design Awards Celebrates Mughal Heritage

DLF Emporio Design Awards Celebrates Mughal HeritageThe just concluded third edition of DLF Emporio Design Awards 2015, a talent hunt-cum-competition to nurture young, innovative and emerging minds in the field of fashion design, honoured some of the most promising next-gen designers for their eclectic creations inspired from India’s rich heritage and Mughal era.

The event highlighted several re-imagined versions of the popular Anarkali ensemble and apparels adorned with prints of classic Mughal paintings and art alongside accessories replete with signature design elements of Jadau, Filigree or Paisley work.

Sonali Srivastava, a young budding talent from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad scooped up the best designer trophy in Indian apparel category, while New Delhi-based Mahima Mahajan won the westernwear recognition. Swati Gupta from Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, New Delhi bagged the accessories designer title.The winners were chosen by a jury of industry stalwarts.

“We at DLF Emporio are delighted to support talented youth and give them an unprecedented platform to showcase their work and pursue their dreams. We have created a unique and distinguished platform to discover young fresh talent and help them carve a niche for themselves in the world of fashion,” Dinaz Madhukar in a statement said.

Hosted at New Delhi’s luxury mall DLF Emporio, the awards ceremony saw entries from leading colleges including Pearl Fashion Academy, NIFT, Amity University, GD Goenka School of Fashion, JD Institute of Fashion, IIFT, Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, Laxmibai College and Raffles Millennium International.
