In a strategic move to broaden its footprint in the textile sector, Sangam (India) has entered into a joint venture with Golden Seams Industries (GSIPL), resulting in the formation of a new entity—Goldenseams Sangam. S. N. Modani, MD said that this collaboration marks a significant milestone in Sangam’s long-term growth strategy, aiming to expand its presence in the fast-paced and fashion-driven denim apparel market.
The newly formed joint venture will be headquartered in Orissa and will focus on the manufacturing and marketing of ready-made denim garments including jeans, jackets, shirts, and trousers. Targeting both domestic and international markets, the venture plans to leverage an integrated manufacturing setup coupled with a robust distribution network.
Under this partnership, Sangam (India) holds a 50% equity stake in the new company, reflecting its strong commitment to this venture. The investment has been made through cash consideration, and the company is currently setting up infrastructure for full-scale operations.
Goldenseams Sangam is envisioned as more than a manufacturing unit—it represents a holistic business model that includes laundry processing, design and product development, and innovation geared toward changing fashion trends. With sustainability at its core, the venture will adopt advanced denim finishing technologies and environmentally conscious manufacturing practices.
In line with evolving consumer behavior, the JV also plans to pursue an omnichannel approach, combining offline retail outlets with online e-commerce platforms and global trade partnerships. This global orientation is expected to position Goldenseams Sangam as a prominent player in the premium denim apparel space.
The establishment of operations in Orissa not only supports regional industrialization but also aligns with government initiatives to create textile hubs in emerging areas. The venture is expected to generate employment, foster local skill development, and contribute to the economic growth of the region.
Sangam (India), already a leader in yarn, fabric, and garment processing, will now complete its textile value chain through this forward integration—from fibre to finished fashion products. Its flagship brands, including Sangam Suiting and Sangam Denim, will be complemented by this new strategic addition.
