Footwear and apparel brand ‘Woodland’Footwear and apparel brand ‘Woodland’ will launch fresh line of products for e-commerce portals on which these websites could offer “big” discounts, a move aimed to protect the interest of its brick and mortar business.

“We will offer separate line of our products for e-commerce websites so that they can sell them on discounts to customers. These products available at portals, though of same good quality, will not be available at our outlets,” Aero Club managing director, Mr. Harkirat Singh said in Chandigarh.

Woodland brand is promoted by Aero Club. Woodland range of products is available at several e-commerce portals including Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon, Myntra, Jabong etc., Mr. Singh said.

“We have seen portals offer discounts on items. They sometimes overindulge in big discounts and we do not want that the interest of our outlets should suffer (because of these discounts),” he said, while citing as reason behind offering separate line of products for e-commerce segment.

The company has plans to open 60 to 70 stores in current fiscal as part of its plans to reach turnover of Rs. 1,300 crore by end of current fiscal. Last fiscal, it had clocked sales of Rs. 1,000 crore.

“We are also planning to start opening stores through franchisee route for the first time in tier-III and tier IV cities,” he said adding that such stores are planned in several places including Srinagar, Maharashtra.
