Yepme to Set Up 1,400 Offline Outlets in Three Years

Majorly to tap the Tier II and III cities of the country and also to widen its consumer base, fashion omni-channel retailer, Yepme plans to launch 1,400 stores pan India in three years.

“Our hypothesis were, first, that all fashion brands in India typically have 1:10 or 1:20 kind of split online and offline. If that is the truth then we have a 10x potential,” Vivek Gaur, CEO of Yepme said.

“Tier II cities have aspiration-al consumers who want to try fashionable products. However, these towns and cities lack such offerings where Yepme can meet the demand through its franchise stores. Typically, the size of the stores can be around 750-1,200 sq.ft,” he added.

Yepme presently operates around 27 stores, mainly franchise outlets, across metro and smaller cities. The company started its operation in 2011 and was online player until, early this year, when it launched their first store in Gurgaon, NCR.

Through the stores, they will be able to sell across range of products like fitted out garments e.g. dresses, top-wear, bottom-wear and will not be restricted to traditionally strong categories in online fashion only with standard sizing like footwear, accessories, knitwear and outerwear.
