Indian Textile & Apparel Exports Dip 5.87% Between April & Jan

In the first ten months of fiscal ending March 31, 2024, textile and apparel exports from India shrank to US $27.70 billion, down 5.87 percent compared to $29.43 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal.

According to Commerce Ministry statistics, of this, textile exports rose slightly by 0.15 percent year on year to $16.12 billion in the months between April 2023 and January 2024.

In the reporting period, within various textile products, cotton yarn, fabrics, made-ups, and handloom product exports totaled $9.561 billion, an increase of 5.69 percent as against a year ago period.

However, overseas shipments of manmade fibre yarn, fabrics, and made-ups decreased 6.56 percent year on year to $3.80 billion.
