In a bid to promote handloom products, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, K Palaniswami has exhorted the people to wear khadi dresses once a week.

Tamil Nadu has about 3.20 lakh weavers and nearly 1.29 lakh families depend on the textiles and the handloom sectors, Palaniswami said.

Government has been implementing projects set forth by the late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa for the benefit of the weaver’s community, he said in his National Handloom Day message in Chennai.
