A textile trade body, The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) has elected its new office bearers for the year 2017-18 at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore. The association announced this during its 58th Annual General Meeting held on September 9.

P Nataraj, Managing Director, K P R Mill Limited, Coimbatore has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of SIMA for the year 2017-18. Furthermore, K. Vinayakam, Managing Director of SCM Textile Spinners, Avinashi and Managing Director of Chennai Silks has been appointed as the new Deputy Chairman of the organisation for the next one year.

The outgoing Chairman M. Senthil Kumar thanked the Government for its continuous support to the textile industry and the association. He also praised the work done by the Textile Minister Smriti Zubin Irani, who has initiated several policies for the benefit of the sector.
