Kakatiya Textile Park is expected to attract 11,000 cr investments

Being set up at a cost of Rs 11,000 crore in public-private partnership, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will laid the foundation stone of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal on October 20.

It is expected to attract investments of over Rs 11,000 crore and will have ginning, spinning, weaving, processing and garmenting facilities in the park itself. On the same day, the chief minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Rs 669-crore Warangal outer ring road project, part of a string of infrastructure development projects in the district, according to official sources.

Weavers who have migrated to Maharashtra, Gujarat and Haryana would be asked to return after the project is completed. Telangana produces about 60 lakh bales of cotton a year, due to shortage of processing units most of which is sent to adjoining states.

Some Tiruppur-based textile manufacturers have already committed to invest in the upcoming textile park.
