Indian Artizans Picks Up Majority Stake In Debarun's Label

Indian Artizans – an omnichannel marketplace for Indian fashion and decor under the banner of InCraft Fashion Venture private limited has picked up 60 per cent stake in Kolkata’s designer Debarun Mukherjee’s label. Mukherjee’s brand ‘Debarun’ was launched in 2006.

Indian Artizans is backed by Delhi-based Scale Ventures and on behalf of the portal; Rahul Narvekar, co-founder and director, scale ventures and investor director, InCraft Fashion Venture has joined the board of Debarun.

Indian Artizans is a host to designers like Jayati Goenka, ANS by Astha and Sidharth who work closely with the weavers to create products which are well received by the target audience. Similarly, Debarun Mukherjee shall also work closely with the artisans to design products for the contemporary consumer.

“As a couture and luxury pret brand, concentrating on Indian sensibilities and classical crafts, our association would aim to create a double sided network effect by accessing more of India’s heritage weaves and crafts while increasing our reach nationally and internationally thus truly setting the stage for taking Indian fashion onto a global pedestal,” Mukherjee said.
