An apex industry body, India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society) is established in 1980 has elected its new office bearers for 2017-21 to support and serve the Textile Engineering Industry.

India ITME Society has elected S. Hari Shankar, Joint Managing Director of Lakshmi Card Clothing Mfg. Co. Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, as Chairman for next five years. The Vice Chairmen elected are Mehul Trivedi of Indian Card Clothing Co. Ltd., Kaizar Z. Mahuwala of Gurjar Gravures Pvt. Ltd., Sanjay K. Jain of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), Arvind Sinha of the Textile Association (India), and Surina Rajan of the Bureau of Indian Standards. Ketan Sanghvi of Laxmi Shuttleless Looms Pvt. Ltd., has been chosen as the Treasurer.

An alumni of Philadelphia College of Textiles & Sciences of the US, Hari Shankar is also on the Board of Directors of Prathishta Wvg. & Knitting Co. Ltd., and a Governing Council member of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore. He is also on the Board of the Executive Council of Textile Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (India) (TMMA) since 2001 and also held the position of Chairman of TMMA from 2011-2013.

India ITME Society has been successfully serving the Industry for 34 years now and hosts 2 Mega International Textile Technology events in India addressing different aspects of industry requirements and focusing on future technology. I.e. India ITME & Global Textile Technology Engineering Show (GTTES).
