
Kumar, who is a leading exporter of handicrafts, has been associated with the sector for more than four decades. He has served in various capacities as member of the Committee of Administration, president, Trade Fairs, and vice-chairman, EPCH.
Kumar said that international marketing initiatives, cluster development projects, design, product development and new policy initiatives have to be pursued more vigorously in order to sustain the growth in handicrafts exports.
The exports of handicrafts have shown an increase to Rs. 27,746.84 crore in the year 2014-15 from Rs. 23,504.42 crore in the previous year, an increase of 18.05%.
