CEPA With Canada By September 2015 Hailed

CEPA With Canada A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the chairman of Apparel Made ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council, functioning under National Skill Development Council (NSDC), A. Sakthivel and president of Fanshawe College, Ontario, Bruce Wilson, at Parliamentary Hill, Ottawa on April 15 in presence of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who was on a visit there during the period, and Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper.

Sakthivel who is also president of TEA said Fanshawe College is a leading textile and apparel institution in Canada which will help impart training with modern quality methods to trainers with new concepts to workers employed in the apparel, made ups and home furnishing sectors. He pointed out that at this juncture, the skill enhancement is most necessary to apparel sector mainly to reduce the rejection percentage significantly and added the man behind the machine is more important than machine itself. “Imparting quality training with latest concepts would help enhance our workers productivity level, which is currently lower than the competing countries”.CEPA with Canada

Sakthivel hailed the Prime Minister’s statement at a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister there that India would implement the roadmap to conclude the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by September 2015 and noted that it would be a good opportunity in future to boost apparel exports to Canada. Canada Prime Minister said there are many issues in the Free Trade to be resolved and they are committed to get it solved.
