Textile and branded apparel major, Arvind Ltd is foraying into the footwear business with launching its own footwear brand for marketing.

“Arvind will be retailing a portfolio of mix brands including its own ones, licensed and joint ventures,” Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai, company’s CMD said.

Arvind will be launching national as well as international brands in a market with an estimated size of Rs. 30,000 crore.

After China, India is the second biggest worldwide manufacturer of footwear, of which 5 per cent is exported and the rest sold in the domestic market.
