Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) has signed an agreement with Groz Beckert Asia to launch the CSR initiative for vocational training at ATDC Chandigarh. Groz Beckert is world’s leading provider of industrial needles, precision components for the production of textiles.

Under the agreement, Groz Beckert Asia  will sponsor the training of five students under B.Voc degree course to be conducted at ATDC Chandigarh and ten students under ATDC vocational institute’s one year diploma course to be arranged at ATDC Ludhiana.

“ATDC’s focus on CSR has been on designing and deploying sustainable programmes, where the community takes ownership of the programmes in the true spirit of participatory development,” Roopali Shukla, centre’s regional manager Chandigarh & Punjab said.

There is a sharper emphasis on capacity building of the community, which has led to better impact of programmes on skill development for both men and women, Shukla added.

ATDC has emerged as country’s largest vocational training network for the apparel sector and will further develop and upgrade its policies, systems and procedures.
