ABFRL Plans to Setup Manufacturing Plant in Odisha

ABFRL Plans to Setup Manufacturing Plant in Odisha

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) has made an announcement of investing Rs 114 crore to set up a new apparel manufacturing plant in Rayagada district of Odisha. With a mission to create over 2750 jobs in the district and the unit will have a capacity to produce 3.6 million pieces of apparel per annum.

Sanjeev Chopra, Odisha industries department principal secretary said the proposal has been finalised in the single window clearance on Tuesday. “This will be the second apparel manufacturing unit of ABFRL in Odisha and comes on the heels of the first unit in Bhubaneswar set up in November last year,” he said.

Chopra continued saying that this will be a milestone development in Rayagada district as 2,750 jobs will be created, most of which will be for women.

ABFRL has indicated in its proposal that the new up-coming plant will be financed 30 per cent by equity and balance 70per cent by term loan. The project will be implemented within 24 months from the date of approval.

The Company sells in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England and also operates the fashion retail chain Pantaloons. ABFRL first unit in Odisha has a capacity of four million shirts per annum and employs around 2,000 employees who are mostly women.
