Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) conducted a power packed training programme on “Skill Knowledge and Enhancement in Teaching” on key areas of Pedagogy, Textiles and Work-Study for a group of 20 candidates consisting of industry participants and ATDC own resources. The training was held at ATDC Gurgaon for three days. Trainers and Industry professionals from different companies and ATDC’s own faculty resources participated in the programme.

The workshop also threw light on each one’s role in the apparel industry and the critical importance of Team Building Skills & work attitudes. It also focused on explaining the work measurement &operation break down in a ‘Methods Study’ format. Along with focusing on pedagogy of training, the workshop also dealt with topics like – Natural fibers (Cotton, Silk, and Wool), Manufactured fibers (synthetics and regenerated fibers; Polyester, Viscose, Rayon, Modal, Tencel). The training proved particularly beneficial to employees working at the properties of fabric that impact the production.

Speaking at the valedictory function Darlie Koshy, DG&CEO ATDC said “With Vietnam and Bangladesh competing in their meteoric rise to cross 30 billion US Dollar exports, India has only two ways forward: “Improve fashion productivity which immerge value addition in exports and /or improve productivity to bring down costs and improve margins.  To improve productivity intensive training is required at all levels. This novel training programme offered an approach to training within specific focus on fabric knowledge and industrial engineering etc. thus addressing two of the weakest areas in the current workforce.
