A Handloom expo was inaugurated at Vellore on Monday where handloom weavers attached to 57 cooperative weavers societies from across the district and some from other districts have set up stalls to market their products during this festive season.

The weavers’ societies from Gudiyattam, Kaveripakkam, Sholinghur, Kengyanallur, Sathuvachari, K V Kuppam, Tirupattur and Ambur have exhibited cotton products such as sarees, llungies, dhotis, bed spreads, curtains, towels, pillow covers etc.

Weavers from Tirupur, Vandavasi, Salem, Coimbatore, Ramanathapuram have displayed the silk and cotton sarees, kora sarees, silk dhotis etc.
