President Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA), A Sakthivel today thanked Tamil Nadu chief minister, J.Jayalalitha and union parliamentary affairs minister, Venkaiah Naidu for inclusion of Tirupur under smart city programme following repeated requests made by the association to both central and state government for the same.
Sakthivel said under smart city programme, Tiruppur will get Rs. 500 crore in five Years, and in addition, Tamil Nadu government in the state budget has already allocated Rs.400 crore for 12 municipal corporations including Tirupur for the smart city programme. The measure would be helpful for infrastructure development and implementation of IT for better faculty, he said.
