The recent Cosmoprof India expo in Mumbai reinforced its reputation as South Asia’s foremost B2B beauty platform, combining commerce, networking and exceptional creative expression. At the heart of this celebration was the “Runway by Cosmoprof” fashion show, masterfully conceived and directed by acclaimed designer Sonaakshi Raaj. This year’s showcase was a dazzling fusion of cosmetics, hair artistry and haute couture, perfectly connecting the business focus of the expo with the latest lifestyle and aesthetic trends.
Sonaakshi Raaj’s collection, aptly named “The First Kiss,” mesmerized attendees by translating the emotional intensity and romance of intimate moments into fabric, color and movement. Featuring 20 to 30 exquisitely detailed ensembles crafted from luxurious materials such as delicate tulle, silk and organza, the collection balanced intricate floral embellishments and a gentle sheen with bold, sculptural shapes. Its palette gracefully transitioned from soft blush, ivory and gold to deeper, passionate shades of crimson and midnight.
This artistic diversity extended into a range of silhouettes that celebrated the modern Indian
woman. The spectators admired everything from elegantly tailored gowns and intricately
corseted dresses to refined blouses and fluid, pre-draped sarees. According to Sonaakshi
Raaj, the collection honors the natural beauty, confidence and elegance of Indian women,
creating a compelling fashion statement that aligned seamlessly with the beauty and grooming
trends emphasized throughout the expo.
Running concurrently was the prestigious Cosmoprof and Cosmopack India Awards ceremony during a glamorous Networking Night. Organized in partnership with BEAUTYSTREAMS, these awards recognized outstanding innovation across six categories. Winners included LYLYL Green Apple No-Sebum Sunstick from South Korea (Skin Care), Hydrify Gloss Mist from 3TENX India (Hair & Nail Products), RAINBOW GIN by ISIMAT GmbH Siebdruckmaschinen from Germany (Innovative Technology), AYURVEDIC FOUNDSERUM from ITALCOSMETICI SRL Italy (Makeup, Skin Care, Hair Formula) and R-SUE from FR & Partners SA Switzerl and (Packaging: Design & Materials).
